Not only is Amal Clooney a constant inspiration for workwear, but the human rights lawyer also knows how to make an impact when dressing up for an evening soirée. Last night, she was spotted in an elegant ensemble as she arrived at the Albie Awards, an event hosted by the Clooney Foundation for Justice, her and husband George's organisation.

The awards honoured figures that have dedicated themselves to justice, and was attended by various famous faces including Meryl Streep, Dua Lipa and Julia Roberts.

Clooney demonstrated how to make an impact for such a special occasion, wearing head-to-toe shimmering beads in the form of a 1920s-inspired, gold-and-silver gown by Atelier Versace.

She added more glitter by matching her dress with silver strappy heels and carried a gold clutch, while she also embraced some Old Hollywood glamour with her beauty look, wearing her hair in Twenties-inspired waves and a signature red lip.

Her husband George also dressed up for the evening, in a smart black tuxedo.

Ever the master of both casual and formalwear, Clooney inspired our workwear wardrobes earlier this week as well. She struck the perfect balance between smart and casual in a chic turtleneck knitted dress by Stella McCartney, worn with autumn's must-have style, the knee-high boot.

At the Albie Awards, George explained to People how he and his wife work together, while he also told the publication how proud he is of his wife.

"This is an exciting one because Amal’s gotten journalists out of Egypt, out of Azerbaijan, prisons, out of — all over the world, Myanmar. My father's a journalist. I have a great affinity for them — her mother's a journalist.

"So it's really exciting for me when she's able to get people who are wrongly accused for doing their job out [of prison]. So, for me, it's just — I couldn't be more proud of my wife."
