    There’s something for everyone on television this weekend, which brings the return of acclaimed comedy Ramy, Disney’s years-in-the-making Hocus Pocus sequel, and Saturday Night Live’s Season 48 premiere, hosted by Miles Teller.

    Plus, Halloween season kicks off with the fall premiere of The Walking Dead, Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire, Shudder docuseries Queer for Fear, and more. Here’s what’s new and noteworthy on TV this weekend:

    FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 30

    Ramy: Complete Season 3. The Golden Globe-winning comedy returns as Egyptian-American Ramy Hassan (Ramy Youssef) finds himself in a time of moral crisis. After abandoning his spiritual journey, Ramy dedicates himself to his uncle’s diamond business, forcing his family to confront their commitment to worldly concerns. Bella Hadid, who plays Steve’s (Steve Way) girlfriend, joins the cast in Season 3. Read our review. Streaming on Hulu

    Hocus Pocus 2: Original film. 29 years after the Black Flame Candle was lit, resurrecting the Sanderson Sisters (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy), the 17th century witches seek revenge by wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve. The long-awaited sequel also stars Sam Richardson, Hannah Waddingham, and Tony Hale. Read our review. Streaming on Disney+

    Queer For Fear: Docuseries premiere. Bryan Fuller (American Gods) celebrates the history of the LGBTQ+ community in the horror and thriller genres in this four-part docuseries that aims to re-examine genre stories through a queer lens, from Frankenstein to Alfred Hitchcock’s Rope.     My Best Friend’s Exorcism: Original film. When her best friend Gretchen begins to act differently after an evening of skinny-dipping gone wrong, Abby investigates her bizarre behavior, but she soon makes a startling discovery about the evil lurking among them.     The Greatest Beer Run Ever: Original film. Determined to support his friends fighting in Vietnam, Chickie (Zac Efron) sets out to personally bring them American beer, but what starts as a well-meaning journey changes Chickie’s life forever.     Human Playground: Complete Season 1. Idris Elba narrates this docuseries that explores the origins and evolution of play around the globe, from age-old rituals to a billion-dollar business. Watch trailer. Streaming on Netflix

    The Price is Right at Night: Special presentation. Young Sheldon stars Iain Armitage and Raegan Revord guest model as an audience of real twins competes for amazing prizes, including a tech room inspired by Armitage’s character and a trip to Texas, where the sitcom is set. 8:00 PM ET on CBS

    College Football: ESPN offers two games tonight:

    SATURDAY OCTOBER 1

    Saturday Night Live: Season 48 premiere. Miles Teller makes his hosting debut alongside musical guest Kendrick Lamar as the comedy returns to NBC. Season 48 is a major transition year for SNL, which lost eight stars — including Kate McKinnon, Pete Davidson, and Aidy Bryant — over the summer. 11:30 PM ET/8:30 PM PT on NBC

    Yvonne Orji: A Whole Me: Comedy special. The Insecure star discusses her evolving thoughts on friendship, dating, adulting, and why guys need better friends in her second HBO special, which blends stand-up comedy with scripted vignettes. Watch trailer. 10:00 PM ET on HBO

    The Gabby Petito Story: TV movie. Lifetime marks the start of Domestic Violence Awareness Month by dramatizing the story of Gabby Petito (played by Skyler Samuels) and Brian Laundrie (Evan Hall). The film depicts Gabby and Brian’s relationship, warning signs that Gabby’s life was in danger, the search for her body and discovery of her murder, and Brian’s death by suicide.     Girlfriendship: TV movie. After a booking mix-up, Samara’s (Tamera Mowry-Housley) birthday getaway turns into a week-long retreat on Edisto Island, South Carolina, where she and her two best friends (Lyndie Greenwood and Krystal Joy Brown) rediscover their passions and find romance.     The Walking Dead: Season 11 fall premiere. After six months away, AMC’s zombie epic returns with its final eight-episode installment. In the premiere, Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) rush to the Commonwealth to stop Hornsby (Josh Hamilton) from going after their families, while Pamela (Laila Robins) deals with protesters demanding justice for her son’s crimes.     Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire: Series premiere. AMC adapts Anne Rice’s gothic novel about the perils of immortality, as told to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). Chafing at the limitations of life as a Black man in 1900s New Orleans, Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) finds it impossible to resist Lestat de Lioncourt’s (Sam Reid) offer to become his vampire companion, but the introduction of Lestat’s newest fledgling, child vampire Claudia (Bailey Bass), sets them on a decades-long path of revenge and atonement.     East New York: Series premiere. The team behind NYPD Blue returns to the well with a new procedural about starring Amanda Warren as Regina Haywood, the newly promoted deputy inspector of East New York, a working-class neighborhood at the eastern edge of Brooklyn. Haywood leads a diverse group of officers, some of whom are reluctant to deploy her methods in a community in the midst of social upheaval and the early seeds of gentrification.     The Family Law: Series premiere. After hitting rock bottom, lawyer and recovering alcoholic Abigail Bianchi (Jewel Staite) is forced to work at her estranged father’s (Victor Garber) law firm. Director Kathryn Ferguson charts Sinéad OʼConnor’s phenomenal rise to worldwide fame and examines how she used her voice at the height of her stardom, before her iconoclastic personality led to her exile from the pop mainstream.     Jack Osbourne’s Haunted Homecoming: Series premiere. Jack Osbourne returns to his childhood home in the county of Buckinghamshire, a notorious paranormal hotspot, seeking the dark truth behind the mysterious experiences he had there as a young boy. Streaming on Discovery+

    America’s Funniest Home Videos: Season 33 premiere. The long-running clip show returns with an episode dedicated to magic tricks gone wrong and rude commentary from children. With host Alfonso Ribiero. 7:00 PM ET on ABC
