HONOLULU (KITV4) -- Ballet Hawaii makes its return after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
The holiday tradition is back with members of the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra.
The story is set in the 1858 Kingdom Of Hawaii with stage designs and costumes representing the Hawaiian monarchy.
Dancers gave a glimpse of what you can expect from the show at Washington Place this morning at Washington Place.
The production will take place at the Blaisdell Concert Hall on the following dates:
Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 4, at 12 p.m.
Organizers say the performance will be bigger and better than ever.
The artistic director, Pamela Taylor Tongg says, I wanted our Nutcracker to represent the Hawaiian culture, the are and all the things the honu, the nene, the fairy tern, all the different aspects of Hawaii" shares Tongg.
BalletHawaii’s Executive Director says, “We love that this production that blends history and island influences, is a tradition for many and we hope the performances will delight audiences of all ages and encourage the love of ballet in our community.”
