WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — An injury crash in north Wichita on Thursday led to two more crashes.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP), the first crash happened at 5:15 p.m. on westbound Kansas Highway 96, east of Hydraulic.

The KHP says a 39-year-old man from Emporia was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox westbound on K-96 in the first lane when he veered left of the roadway and hit the inside guardrail. He then veered hard right across the roadway and hit a 25-year-old man from Ozark, Mo., that was driving a 2022 Ford F-250. The Chevrolet Equinox came to a rest at the bottom of the embankment to the right of the road, facing the wrong direction on its side. The Ford F-250 came to rest down the embankment on its side as well.

The driver of the Chevrolet Equinox was taken to a local hospital for the treatment of his suspected minor injuries. The driver of the F-250 complained of pain but was not taken to a hospital for treatment.
