Rayma Jean Lucas, 79, of Newport departed this life on Wednesday, September 28, 2022. She was born on December 10, 1942, to Raymond Reddell and Juanita (Sharp) Goodman.
Rayma was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newport. She was a very family-oriented person who loved to cook holiday meals. Her favorite thing was having her children and grandchildren all together for a big family meal at her home. She cherished her family more than they will ever know.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Reddell and Juanita Goodman and her daughter, Teri Kessler.
She is survived by her husband, of 54 years, Delbert Ray Lucas; her son, Charles David Lucas (Lisa) of Newport; her step-son, James Delbert Beckett (Donna) of Colorado; her sisters, Sue Beard (Wayne) of Newport and Jacque Jones of Newport; grandchildren, Ashley Morales (Ricky), Shawn West (Bryce), Rachel McCrary (Landon), Michael Lucas (Gracie), Harriet Clark, Cory Kessler (Erica), Brittany Shelton (Jesse), Taylor Beckett, Jordyn Beckett, Bailey Beckett, Vincent Beckett, Brandy Beckett, and Erin Beckett; great-grandchildren, Seth Morales, Kenzley Morales, Owen West, Cade West, Lucas McCrary, Karter Lucas, Addison Lucas, Destiny Williams and Charlotte Kessler and her special friends, Kim Jackson and Cathy Ramsey.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Cory Kessler, Jessie Shelton, Michael Lucas, Ricky Morales, Bryce West and Landon McCrary.
The service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Dillinger Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Greg Dills officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 until service time. The interment will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
