A Florida man and woman were arrested after one of them had enough fentanyl on her to kill over 10,000 people and the other was spotted driving on a suspended driver’s license.
28-year-old Taylor Marie Dufour and 22-year-old Kyle Ryan Hackney, both from Ormond Beach, were arrested and booked at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility following a Tuesday morning traffic stop on West State Road 100 and West Black Point Road in Bunnell.
Investigators say it all started when a deputy found a gold Toyota driving north on U.S. 1 with Hackney behind the wheel and Dufour in a passenger seat around 7:40 a.m.
The deputy recognized Hackney and knew he did not have a valid driver’s license. After confirming the license was suspended, he stopped the vehicle.

The passenger, Dufour, gave deputies a false name initially but deputies learned her true identity and discovered she was wanted on an active felony warrant in Volusia County for grand theft auto with nationwide extradition.
When deputies searched Dufour, they found over 21 grams of fentanyl on her person, enough to potentially kill over 10,000 people. She also had oxycodone pills in her possession. Dufour had tried to hide the drugs inside her pants.
“Fentanyl is flowing across the country and we are seizing it in Flagler County, too,” Sheriff Staly said. “Our seizures of this deadly drug are up over 500%. There is no telling how many overdose deaths we have prevented by getting this poison off the streets.”
Dufour was arrested on four total charges, including trafficking in fentanyl, possession of oxycodone and evidence tampering. She’s held on $60,500 bond at the Green Roof Inn. Dufour has no prior arrests in Flagler County.
Hackney has since bonded out of the Green Roof Inn after posting $1,500 bond on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.
He’s been booked at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility four times since 2018 on various charges, including reckless driving, fleeing & eluding, and drug possession.
