In just a few weeks, the Los Angeles Lakers will start the biggest comeback season in their history or they will continue a slow, sad slide into NBA irrelevance.

The team is desperate to turn it all around after their terribly embarrassing season last year that saw them missing the playoffs entirely.

All summer long, the Lakers have said they plan to be healthy, ready to play, and eager to prove the critics wrong in 2022-23.

To that end, they released a video of the team in the practice gym working out, getting off shots, trying out plays, and seemingly moving well as a unit.

The video is great for LA fans: there are shots of LeBron James dunking, Anthony Davis making threes, Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley playing together, and even Kendrick Nunn once again on the floor.

It is great stuff to be sure but fans should still be very, very nervous as the start of the season approaches.

Lackluster Lakers

While it is wonderful to see the Lakers playing well during their practice, there are a couple of things to remember.

Firstly, this video is edited by the Lakers’ media team, which means they are obviously only containing the highlights in this sizzle reel, and any clunky plays or awkward moments, or poor shot attempts will remain on the cutting room floor.

Secondly, it is one thing to practice in your own gym and a totally different thing to battle against teams within the league.

The team might not look nearly as slick when going up against the Golden State Warriors or Milwaukee Bucks or Boston Celtics.

LA fans should be stirred after this video but they should still be ready for a good or bad season.
