Frank’s Americana Revival is making a move in the spring of 2023, just one block away from its current location at 3736 Westheimer. A larger space at the luxury Alexan River Oaks apartments will become the restaurant’s new home at 3015 Weslayan St.

Architects are currently working on the plans for Frank’s new location, and after permitting comes construction. Frank’s owner Michael Shine told What Now Houston they hope to open at the new space in late March or early April of 2023.

Shine said several factors led to the move including necessary improvements at the current location and the desire for outdoor seating. They negotiated a one-year extension for the current space and plan to continue operations there until a couple of weeks before the move next spring.

“For us to really capitalize on the first 10 years of success, we had to get into an environment where we could do that,” Shine said. The new location is larger, includes private dining rooms, and will allow for an outdoor patio with seating for about 50 people. Plans are to expand the kitchen and add seating to the bar, which will connect to the outdoor patio. Plus, it’s a walkable neighborhood. “There are so many more positives that we just felt like we needed to take the bite and go for it.”

Frank’s will continue to offer current menu items with new dishes added occasionally. Diners can enjoy beef short ribs and jalapeno cheese grits, chicken fried steak, the Lone Star Burger, a variety of flavorful steak dishes, and more.

Shine said they also plan to open a coffee cafe inside the new location’s entryway to open at 7:00 in the morning. It will offer espressos, cappuccinos, lattes, plus fresh baked pastries and breakfast sandwiches. A small retail area will offer boxed lunches, bottles of wine, and Micks and Nells brand coffee. Shine said a percentage of the coffee sales will go to charity. Guests can enjoy breakfast in the lobby area or outside.

Shine said there is a lot of work to do on the new space, but they have been blessed by their customer base and are excited about the move.
