This is not how Daniel Trevino thought his morning fishing trip would go off the shore in Lynn, Massachusetts. But then he and his friend saw a small dinghy in distress and they raced to help five boaters all in the water.
Five people had to be rescued from the water after their small boat capsized Thursday morning off the coast of Lynn, Massachusetts.
The boaters were rescued after a private boat, as well as the Lynn Fire Department and Lynn Harbormaster, stepped in to help, according to Lynn Fire Chief Stephen Archer. One person was taken to the hospital, and everyone is excepted to be okay.
"They had life vests on, but they were calling for help," Chief Archer said. "Obviously, the water is very, very cold and hypothermia is a concern."

Daniel Trevino tells NBC10 Boston this was not how he thought his morning fishing trip was going to go.
“It was a wild morning to say the least,” he said.
Trevino was out kayaking with his friend early Thursday morning when they saw something was wrong.

“It didn't take us too long to see something happening in the horizon, something unusual,” he shared.
Trevino added that he and his friend raced back to shore to grab a rope and then paddled out to the five boaters, who were fortunately all wearing life jackets.
The two were able to paddle the five people to shore with the help of some other boaters where they were met by Lynn firefighters and paramedics.
Trevino says he is just glad he was able to help.
“It was just a great, great experience, I am very happy they are okay,” he said. “My friend and I just looked at each other, it was such a fulfilling moment in life.”
Witnesses say the dinghy left from the nearby Lynn Yacht Club. Bill Aylward told NBC10 Boston that the five keep their boat next to his at the club.
“I don't like to speak bad about anybody, but if I wanted too, I couldn't with them,” he said.
Luckily, two fisherman made an unexpected catch that made all the difference.
