Jackie Walorski (R-IN) downplayed an apparent gaffe by President Joe Biden in which the president asked for the late congresswoman, explaining that he is not angry.

During a speech at the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health Wednesday, Biden asked if Walorski was in attendance, despite the fact that she died in a car crash in August. Keith Walorski, one of her brothers, shrugged off the incident, explaining that Biden is “trying.”

‘WHERE’S JACKIE?’: BIDEN’S MISCUE RAISES FRESH QUESTIONS ABOUT HIS AGE

“All I’m saying right now about the president is bless his heart for trying. Yeah, it was a big mess-up today. Inexcusable? No. Unforgivable? No. I’m not gonna hold it against him. I just feel sorry for him,” Keith Walorski told the New York Post.

Jackie Walorski helped plan the hunger conference along with Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA), Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), and Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN).

Biden”I want to thank all of you here, including bipartisan elected officials like Rep. McGovern, Sen. Braun, Sen. Booker, Rep. — Jackie, are you here?” Biden asked at the event Wednesday. “Where’s Jackie? I thought she was going to be here — to help make this a reality.”

The White House subsequently offered a defense of the apparent slip-up, insisting that “she was top of mind for the president” because of her contributions to the conference aimed at combating hunger.

“It’s par for the course,” Keith Walorski added, per the outlet. “I feel sorry for him, really.”

Jackie Walorski was killed in a car crash last month alongside three others. Biden called the Walorskis after her death and issued his condolences. He also ordered that flags be lowered in her honor and released a lengthy statement paying tribute to her.

“He made a phone call after my sister was killed and he was very sincere in his relaying the grief process because he’s been through that grief process, he knows all about it,” Keith Walorski continued, per the report.

Keith Walorski is reportedly set to visit the White House Friday, along with his mother and a friend of his sister. Biden was not the only one who drew attention for a verbal gaffe in recent days.

During a visit to the Demilitarized Zone on the Korean Peninsula, Vice President Kamala Harris had a slip-up in which she hailed the United States’s strong alliance with the “Republic of North Korea.” She likely intended to refer to the “Republic of Korea,” or South Korea — a stalwart ally of the U.S. in the region.
