Survivor League: Who's left after that Chiefs loss? (Hint: the undefeated Lainey Wilson)

The Kansas City Chiefs may be the most disliked team on Music Row this week (and not just because some folks still hurt after Patrick Mahomes literally ran over the Titans' Super Bowl dreams in 2020).

Kansas City muffed last week's game against the unimpressive Indianapolis Colts, sending four (!!!) Music City Survivor League players home for the season: Breland, Natalie Grant, LOCASH's Preston Burst and Darius Rucker.

But the proverbial bleeding doesn't stop there. Three more players got the boot when Jacksonville topped an injured Chargers team and the Dolphins threw ice water on a red-hot start to the Buffalo Bills' season. Kane Brown, Jelly Roll and Scotty McCreery.

Lainey Wilson performs during CMA Fest at Nissan Stadium Friday, June 10, 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Just how topsy-turvy is the start to this NFL season? After three weeks in a double-elimination league, only five country singers remain. Out of those contestants, one singer holds an undefeated record: "Heart Like A Truck" singer Lainey Wilson. The small-town Louisiana native puts her faith this week in Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals. who face a sluggish Carolina Panthers team.

To maintain her grip on the league, Wilson should be rooting against the Green Bay Packers this week. Two league contestants — Brooke Eden and Matt Stell — pick Aaron Rogers and company to handle the fallen football dynasty. Read on for a full look at week four picks.

Music City Survivor League week 4 picks

  • Brooke Eden (2-1): Green Bay Packers over the New England Patriots
  • Granger Smith (2-1): Detroit Lions over the Seattle Seahawks
  • Matt Stell (2-1): Green Bay Packers over the New England Patriots

  • Lainey Wilson (3-0): Arizona Cardinals over the Carolina Panthers

Titans vs. Colts:Tennessee Titans' win wasn't pretty but now they're ready for Indianapolis Colts

About the Tennessean's Music City Survivor League

Country music fandom and NFL nerd-ery collide with the inaugural Music City Survivor League, a bragging rights tournament for the biggest football geek on Music Row. Artists pick one team a week each week of the NFL season. If that team wins or ties? They move on. If that team loses? They're in trouble.

We'll play double-elimination. If your favorite artist picks wrong this week, they may still have a fighting chance. No artist can pick the same team twice in a season. Last musician standing wins the league.
