The Brewers just wrapped up a two game series with the St. Louis Cardinals.  Unfortunately, the Cardinals clinched the National League Central Division crown in the Brewers own ball park.  This means that the only way the Crew can enter the play offs is as a wild card team.

As of September 29, the Brewers trail the Phillies by half a game for the final wild card spot.  The Padres also currently hold a spot in the post-season in which the Crew trails them by 3.5 games.  Both the Phillies and Padres hold the tie breaker over the Brewers, so they will have to finish with more wins than either one of these teams in order to make the play-offs.

Currently, the Brewers elimination from the play offs number stands at: 7

The number is based on the Brewers trailing the Phillies for the third wild card spot.  If the Brewers lose or the Phillies win a combination of seven games then the Crew will be out of the play-offs for the first time since 2018.

To finish out the year, the Brewers play four games against the Marlins and three against the Diamondbacks.  All of these games will be played in Milwaukee.  Between home field advantage and playing below .500 teams, hopefully the Brewers can get on a long winning streak to end the season.

The Phillies have five games left against the Nationals and three against the Astros.  They do play a double header against the Nationals.  The Astros will be the #1 seed in the play offs this year, which means they will have a week off from the conclusion of the regular season and their first post-season series.  Hopefully this means that they will play their starters against the Phillies.    

Ultimately, the Brewers just need to win games.  Every game is a must win at this point and it is going to take an all hands on deck approach if they are going to make the post season.
