While residents across southwest and central Florida took a walloping from Hurricane Ian, our weather will remain very quiet over the next 7 days. Cool mornings, warm afternoons, with no rain are your weather stories.

We are waking up to temperatures in the 60s this morning across north Texas. A weak cold front is backing into the area from the northeast, this will just keep the weather nice over the next several days. Temperatures are starting off in the 60s this morning. Plenty of sunshine with an east wind at 10 to 20 will be our story today. Afternoon highs will be cooler than yesterday's 91°. I'm forecasting a high of 85°.

The State Fair of Texas opens tomorrow! Heck yeah! Morning lows will dip in the 50s across all of north Texas with afternoon highs only in the low 80s. 85° is our average high this time of the year. Our average low is now down to 64°.

The weather should be awesome for high school football tomorrow night as well as your weekend weather. Morning lows will get back into the 50s on Saturday morning with highs in the low to mid 80s. We'll warm up slightly on Sunday and into early next week, with afternoon highs and the mid-80s, morning lows will be in the upper 50s to low 60s. Our stable weather pattern will continue through next week, as temperatures creep up into the upper 80s to near 90°. Our next significant cold front may arrive by the end of next week.

A quick look at NOW Tropical Storm Ian. It made landfall yesterday shortly after 3:00 p.m. EDT close to Sanibel Island, packing winds up to 155 mph. Storm surge was between 12 to 15 ft, this inundated areas south of the center of circulation. Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Naples, etc. Rainfall totals ranged between 15 and 25 inches on the north side of the storm. These rainfall totals tapered off a little bit further to the east, but over 10 inches of rain fell along the north sides of the path of the storm as it crept south of Orlando overnight. Its location this morning is close to Daytona Beach right now and will re-emerge into the open waters of the western Atlantic later this morning. Ian is currently moving NE, but a turn to the north is forecast today and will make a second landfall close to midnight tonight near Charleston, South Carolina. Rainfall totals will range between 6 to 10 inches on the north side of the storm as it comes ashore. Storm surge will be between 4ft and 6 ft along the South Carolina /Georgia coastline. This storm will weaken to a depression this weekend, as it moves into the mountains of western North Carolina..

The National Weather Service forecast office in Miami, Tampa, and Orlando, Florida will put out public information statements for peak wind gusts and rainfall totals as the day wears on. Ian's name will definitely be retired making it the 14th "I" named storm to be retired. This letter has the highest amount of retired storm names. This is most likely due to it falling near the peak of hurricane season.

Pray for residents across Florida and try to enjoy your day in the weather, when you can, it's the only weather you got!
