CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) —
Charleston County has issued locations for available shelters and parking garages. Updates for recycling cancellations and the Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services (DAODAS) have been shared as well.

Shelters:
- Pet Shelter, 3841 Leeds Avenue, opens Thursday at 8 a.m.
- Dunston Elementary, 1825 Remount Road, opens Thursday at noon
Shelter Transportation:
4:30 P.M. UPDATE: Buses are no longer transporting people to shelters in Charleston County due to increasing wind speeds.
Parking garages:
- 93 Queen Street
- 90 Cumberland Street
- 34 St. Philip Street
Open to the public starting at 5 p.m. Thursday. All cars must be removed by noon on Sunday, October 2.
Recycling:
- The Bees Ferry Landfill will close at 2 p.m. on Thursday. The landfill will remain closed Friday through Saturday, October 1st. Normal operations begin Monday, October 3.
- There will be no curbside recycling collections on Friday or Saturday, October 1. If your recycling service day is Friday, your service will resume next Friday, October 14th.
DAODAS (The Charleston Center):
- Outpatient services are canceled for Thursday and Friday.
- OTP will be open Thursday morning and will be given take-home doses for Friday and the weekend.
- Residential and Withdrawal Management is open but will not be taking any new admissions at this time.
- All services are scheduled to resume normal operations Monday.
