As Hurricane Ian goes through Florida, the national gas price average has gone up, but Pennsylvania’s average has gone down, and prices in Indiana County are also going down.
Over the last 24 hours, the national average went up two cents to $3.78 a gallon. The national average has gone up ten cents over the last week but it is still down seven cents over the last month. Prices were expected to go up due to Hurricane Ian hitting the Florida coast, impacting refineries in the area.
Pennsylvania’s average continues to go down, though. Triple-A reports that Pennsylvania’s average is $3.78 a gallon. It represents a drop of less than a penny from yesterday, five cents down from last week and 35 cents down from last month.
Indiana County’s average this morning is $3.83 but prices are continuing to head downward. In Indiana, gas prices range from $3.79 to $3.85, while gas prices in Homer City and Blairsville are hovering around the $3.81 level. In Clymer, prices are at $3.79 a gallon, according to GasBuddy.com
Comparing Indiana County to surrounding counties, Jefferson County remains the lowest average in the region with a $3.73 average. Clearfield’s average is $3.80, then Indiana, followed by Westmoreland at $3.84 and Cambria at $3.85. Armstrong County’s average is the highest in the region at $3.92.
