WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - A woman had to be flown to the hospital after, she says, her dog attacked her in her Clermont County home Wednesday. The same dog attacked the woman's father a month before.

Emergency crews were called to the woman's home on Neville Penn Schoolhouse Road at about 10:30 p.m.

EMS crews had to apply a tourniquet, and sheriff's investigators said her arm appeared to be nearly severed at the elbow.

“My arm is hanging!” the woman told a 911 dispatcher.

She told investigators that she was sitting on her bed, petting the dog when it attacked. She eventually got away from the dog and shut the door to the bedroom, trapping the dog inside.

The woman told deputies that the same dog attacked her 80-year-old father on August 21. Medics said his arm was “barely attached to his body.”

Her father is still being treated at UC Medical Center for those injuries.

At the time, the woman told deputies that her father had disturbed the dog when it was sleeping and then “got all up in its face,” at which point, she says, it attacked.

Deputies talked to the woman's daughter, who says it was her mother's plan to give the dog back to the people she had gotten it from before her grandfather got out of the hospital. Her daughter says she believes the dog should have been put down after the first attack.

Both the woman and her father are listed as being in fair condition.

The dog has since been put down.
