Thirty paddlers participate in Paddle Perry event; “Rivers to Rails”

The second “Rivers to Rails” event with Paddle Perry and Ohio River Scenic Railway was held on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
This was the first all-volunteer led event held by Paddle Perry, Inc. Twelve volunteers helped run the event from start to finish. Volunteers came from Lewisport, Hawesville, Cannelton, Tell City, Troy, and Ferdinand!
Thirty paddlers, from as far as Clinton, KY, launched from the Tell City boat ramp at 4 p.m. CST with Paddle Perry safety crew members as the lead and follow paddlers. The voyage took two hours on the Ohio River from Tell City to Troy. Paddlers were served dinner on the train catered by The Round Up Tavern of Troy.
Thank you to all of our volunteers from Paddle Perry and Scenic Lincoln Way, the Perry County CVB for their assistance during the event, The Round Up Tavern for dinner, and Indiana Conservation Officer Zac Howerton.
Paddle Perry would like to especially thank the Ohio River Scenic Railway for partnering with them to create such a unique experience in our county! If you would like to see events like these continue, we highly encourage you to reach out to us and let us know. Even if you’re not a paddler, but you love to watch events like these and see the tourism in our county grow, we want to hear from you!
