Patricia Rosenberg named new finance director for Land of Sky Regional Council

After an extensive search, the Land of Sky Regional Council has named Patricia Rosenberg, certified public accountant and certified internal auditor, as finance director.

Rosenberg has served as the interim finance director for Land of Sky Regional Council since Aug. 8. She was the accounting manager/controller for Straus Law Firm before she joined the Council. Prior to that, she served as internal auditor for the city of Asheville for seven years from Oct. 2014 – Oct. 2021. She previously worked as an assurance associate at McGladrey LLP, the fifth largest provider of assurance, tax and consulting services in the nation.

“I appreciate the opportunity to serve as finance director at Land of Sky Regional Council. I believe in the mission of the Council and I look forward serving with their outstanding team. This job fulfills my passion for government finance and I’m honored to be selected for this role. I love Western North Carolina and I look forward to serving our local governments and region,” Rosenberg said.

Rosenberg graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Loyola University Chicago and earned her master’s of science in accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a Leadership Asheville Class 35 graduate.

She has demonstrated her ability to professionally manage our $20+ million budget. Patricia has served us well as interim finance director and she will help the Council to build on our success to become more efficient and financially resilient,” said Nathan Ramsey, executive director of Land of Sky Regional Council.
