Tour de Fat is back on Oct. 8, with a full day of free festivities celebrating beer, bikes and bemusement. Tour de Fat starts at 11:30 a.m. with a bike parade at New Belgium Brewing, 21 Craven St., Asheville. The festivities run through 6:30 p.m. The Liquid Center closes at 9 p.m.

Tour de Fat is a celebration of beer, people, and humankind’s most wonderful invention – the bicycle. The day’s events include food trucks, music (Pink Beds and Rebirth Brass Band), a “fashion” show (dress up as your alter ego or in your craziest costume), a slow ride challenge, a dance contest and more.

Since 1999, Tour de Fat has raised nearly $6 million dollars for local bike non-profits.
