EASTON, Pa. – It looks like drinks will be on the menu at the new rooftop restaurant that will top out Easton's forthcoming Commodore building.

Easton City Council on Wednesday night approved an intermunicipal liquor license transfer to Grill 3503 LLC, located at 100-116 Northampton St., the site of the new mixed-use building. The transfer will come from JT's Nazareth Diner Inc. in Nazareth.

The liquor license will support the the Commodore's rooftop restaurant, which will offer American cuisine with indoor and outdoor seating for up to 200 patrons.

In July, it was announced that the Trapani family — the owners behind Zest and Grill 3501 — would be taking on the 8,500-square-foot restaurant atop the seven-story Commodore building, which will will feature rental apartments, retail and commercial office space.

In other business, City Council also approved a certificate of appropriateness for exterior building construction materials for the proposed Dutchtown Pointe apartment building on South Sixth Street, as well as a new chapter of the city's code governing construction sites and the protection of structures. That measure will govern the conduct of construction or demolition operations regarding the safety of the public and property.
