Oregon center Alex Forsyth is a semifinalist for the Campbell Trophy, presented annually to the top scholar-athlete in college football.
Forsyth is among 156 players who are semifinalists for the award, which goes to a senior or graduate student in their final year of playing eligibility who has a GPA of at least 3.2, “outstanding football ability as a first team player or significant contributor” and displays strong leadership.
Forsyth has appeared in 31 career games at UO and has been the starting center for each of the past three seasons.
The NFF will name 12-14 finalists for the Campbell Trophy on Oct. 26 and each of whom will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship. The winner of the 33rd Campbell Trophy will be presented on Dec. 6 and have their scholarship increased to $25,000.
Oregon’s Justin Herbert won the award in 2019 and Iowa State’s Charlie Kolar won it last year.
