Based on NYS Police reports, a small army of pickup trucks descended upon the Tall Pines ATV park in Andover to do some free four wheeling. The choose the wrong place to run wild.

Eight teenagers are facing criminal charges following an incident Tuesday night in the Town of Andover. The allegations aren’t serious but the number of defendants is impressive. Amity-based state police charged each suspect, all male, with third-degree criminal trespass, a class B misdemeanor offense. The defendants range in age from 17-19. Seven of the eight were name-protected because of their age. Those arrested were from Maybrook, Woodburne, East Northport, Batavia, Ransomville, Webster, Clyde and Olean…all New York communities. There were all issued appearance tickets and released. Each is designated to appear before Andover Town Justice James Ames at a later date.

Tall Pines makes a living by providing miles of great trails to those who are willing to pay and agree to follow the property rules. Owned by the Kent Family of Andover NY, trespassing on this spread is a risky adventure. From accounts close to the Kent’s, when the family realized they had a gang of rogue trucks on the property they handled it like a cattle roundup. While unconfirmed, sources say that family matriarch Kate Kent finally cornered the yahoos and held them under the careful watch until the state police arrived to make the arrest.

Luckily, what appears to be a band college students were not hurt and all will be facing Judge Ames to explain themselves. At the current going rate of $20 per day at Tall Pines, they should have just paid the toll !
