Aaron Judge tied Roger Maris’ American League home run record Wednesday night, and Maris’ son couldn’t have been happier.

Judge went over a week without a homer after hitting No. 60 last Tuesday against the Pirates, but snapped it Wednesday against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Yankees slugger clubbed his 61st dinger of the campaign over the left field wall of the Rogers Centre.

Judge’s mom and Roger Maris Jr. were sitting beside each other as Judge tied the record, which resulted in a heartfelt moment.

And when Judge got back to the dugout, there was quite the reception waiting for him.

And, after the game, Erik Boland of Newsday caught footage of Judge hugging his mom and then sharing a moment with Roger Maris Jr. in the tunnel of Rogers Center:

The Yankees have seven games remaining following Wednesday’s action, plenty of time for Judge to take sole possession of the honor.
