A Clinton man is facing charges after driving his vehicle through a nail salon in Oneida County.
Just after 10 p.m. New Hartford Police Department and New York Mills Fire Department were dispatched to Spa Point Nails located in the Orchard Plaza on Clinton Street for a report that a vehicle hit the building. Initial officers arriving found a Toyota Sienna van actively driving inside the business destroying the interior.
Eventually, officers were able to approach the vehicle, and the driver, 53-year-old Wenzhu Hong of Clinton who was taken into custody.
Further investigation revealed that Hong was affiliated with the store and upset due to an ongoing domestic dispute.
Hong was charged with Criminal Mischief in the second degree, and Driving While Intoxicated. He was held in the Oneida County Jail overnight and arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment court on Wednesday where he is being held on bail.
