MENA, Arkansas – #20 Northern Oklahoma College women’s soccer earned their sixth shutout of the season Sunday in a 4-0 win at Rich Mountain improving the Mavs’ record to 7-2-1, 5-1-1 in conference play.

Luana San Miguel scored the Mavs’ first goal and then NOC increased the lead to 2-0 as Rich Mountain scored an own goal for the Mavs.

Chloe Wilkins and Karolina Arriaga added second half goals for the Mavs in the 4-0 win.

“We have faced a bunkering defense in almost every game we have played,” said coach Michael DuRoy. “Today was no different, but they did some interesting things with how they tried to defend us. We made a few adjustments, and the game really opened up for us. I honestly don’t think it was our best game today. We have to realize that for us to accomplish our goals we need to practice and play up to a championship standard. It’s not easy to do. That’s why only one team will be the conference champion, region champion, and national champion.”

NOC hosts Murray State at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28.
