Hit-and-run driver leaves woman with life-threatening injuries in Salem, police say

SALEM, Ore. —
Salem police are looking for a driver who they say struck a woman and then left the scene.

The crash happened around 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Police said the driver struck a 66-year-old woman in the 4000 block of Sunnyview Road NE.
The woman was taken to Salem Health with life-threatening injuries.
Using pieces of a headlight assembly collected at the scene, police said the driver was driving a 1988 to 2000 full-size Chevrolet/GMC pickup or sports utility vehicle.
Police said the driver likely drove away eastbound on Sunnyview from Lancaster Drive NE.
