What Saban said about Arkansas, injured players

Alabama’s wrapping up the practice week in Tuscaloosa before heading to Fayetteville for the 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday game with No. 20 Arkansas.

Nick Saban met with reporters Wednesday evening and here’s the rundown.

-- Saban said this is a tough challenge going on the road with a difficult offense to defend and QB who can beat you in multiple ways.

-- You can’t deny this will be the biggest challenge to date, Saban said.

-- On avoiding false starts on the road, Saban said there isn’t more you can do other than practice with noise. The more experienced players handle it better than young guys.

-- Both Byron Young and Jordan Battle practice Wednesday and they hope they’ll be available for Arkansas. They’ll know more Thursday.

-- JoJo Earle is practicing as he approaches the expected return date but couldn’t say if he’d be back for the Arkansas game.

-- On Hurricane Ian, Saban noted he had a house in Boca Grande where the storm was slamming the coast. He offered his prayers to everyone impacted.
