The Idaho Educational Services for the Deaf and Blind has a new opportunity for their older students, young adults, to gain life skills and have a better chance of transitioning into adulthood. The school was able to get a food truck that will be run by students and help fund the furthering of education of other deaf and blind students.

Idaho Educational Services for the Deaf and Blind Transitional Building

The school has been working on what is called a "transitional building" that will help 18 to 21 year old students move on into adulthood. Right now, the current school located in Gooding actually houses the students and the transitional house is not ready for that in Twin Falls just yet. So in the meantime, they are actually renting out that space so they can maintain the building until they are able to make that part of the campus operational.

Food Truck For IESDB Students

The food truck called Ravenous Raptor will be open to the public and will be run by the 18 to 21 year old transitional students. The goal is to help them get real work experience and understanding of things like budgeting, customer service, meal prep, cooking, all the things that running a food truck would help. The money from the food truck will go back into the school to help buy supplies and support the future of the program.

The Food Truck Transformation

The food truck originally was an old school bus that they have transformed into the Ravenous Raptor. They will be serving to the public and they have officially passed everything they need to get the party started. This is such an amazing opportunity for these young adults. As soon as we find a solid schedule we will update so you can make sure to try some of their delicious food and support them.
