The accusation was aired during a city council meeting on Tuesday.

There were somber faces on the zoom call as a tearful Daly City councilwoman Juslyn Manalo claimed she was physically assaulted by fellow member Pamela Digiovanni at City Hall.

"It was very painful and I was in complete shock that she would do something like that to me," Manalo said, alleging that a door was slammed on her.

Councilwoman Digiovanni rejected the accusations, stating that she would never assault anyone. "I vehemently deny that I did anything to assault and that all of this is politically motivated because I would never do such a thing," she said.

Both women claim they've been bullied in the past months.

Some items were continued on the city council agenda to allow for Manalo to be present. Daly City police said they are investigating the allegation.
