CONWAY — Marco’s Pizza, an Ohio-based chain that calls itself the “fastest-growing pizza brand in the United States,” recently opened its third area location in Conway near Coastal Carolina University.

The Conway franchise is located at 1194 Highway 544 in the Teal Towne shopping center and owned by former Wall Street investor Kal Gullapalli.

Gullapalli currently owns Marco’s Pizza franchises in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee, with a goal of opening more than 100 locations within three years.

Marco’s Pizza also has locations in Carolina Forest off of International Drive and Garden City off of U.S. 17.

“I am thrilled to bring Marco’s to the Conway area, especially to the campus of Coastal Carolina University,” Gullapalli said in a statement. “We are very excited to be able to bring Marco’s to such a dynamic and lively university campus and we’re confident the community will welcome the delicious and authentic flavors Marco’s has to offer.”

Marco’s menu features a mix of classic and original specialty pizzas, including pepperoni magnifico, white cheezy, deluxe, all meat or build-your-own pizza and pizza bowls. The company said it was the first national pizza delivery brand to offer a crustless pizza baked in a bowl.

The menu also includes oven-baked subs, salads and sides featuring cheezybread, chicken dippers and wings. Dessert options are cinnasquares, which are fresh-baked, buttery pastries topped with cinnamon and sugar and served with a side of vanilla icing.

Pick-up, delivery, app and online ordering are available at the Conway location, which is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday; 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.

Marco’s Pizza was founded in 1978 by Pasquale “Pat” Giammarco in Toledo, Ohio. The company has grown over the years to operate more than 1,100 stores in 33 states with locations in Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.
