CLEAR FORK, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Early details emerged Wednesday on Westside High School’s annual Homecoming Parade event.
A Wednesday afternoon announcement confirmed that the parade will be held Thursday, October 27, and will begin at 4:00pm.
The announcement follows attempts by the school to pin down a sufficient time and date for the beloved local tradition which, much like those of other schools throughout Southern West Virginia during the 2022 school year, has incurred a number of speed bumps in the form of scheduling conflicts.
The atypically early start time is said to be exclusive to this year’s event, and will be preceded by a three-hour early out for Westside students, as well as students of Wyoming County feeder schools such as Berlin McKinney and Glen Fork.
Ancillary details on the Westside Homecoming Parade are expected to be made available in the near future.
Additionally, the list of themes for Westside’s Homecoming Spirit Days have been announced.
The week’s categories will see students taking on various characters, from surfers and bikers to one of Saturday Night Live’s most prominent exports.
Spirit Days will begin on Monday, October 24, and the full list of themes as announced by Westside can be seen below.
Monday, October 24 – Barbecue Dads & Soccer Moms
Tuesday, October 25 – Bikers vs Surfers
Wednesday, October 26 – Way Back Wednesday
Thursday, October 27 – Class Shirts & Anything But a Backpack

Finally, Thursday, September 29, will be School Picture Day for all Westside faculty and students grades 9 through 11.
