National Daughters Day gave parents an opportunity to honor their little girls, and The Real Housewives of New Jersey sisters Caroline Manzo and Dina Manzo were no exception.

First up, Caroline paid tribute to 34-year-old Lauren Manzo Scalia, sharing a sweet mother-daughter Instagram photo on September 25. Proving that they’re still “thick as thieves,” the RHONJ alum joked in her caption that there’s “never a dull moment” with Lauren and that she’s “blessed to call her mine.”

Lauren, for her part, chimed in, joking, “Tell me you don’t like your daughter without telling me you don’t like your daughter,” to which her mom emphatically replied, “hahahahahaaahahahaaaaaa.”

Just more than a month earlier, the RHONJ daughter got to celebrate her mom on her birthday. “We love [and] appreciate you more than you know!” Lauren captioned an August 23 photo of Caroline with her 5-year-old granddaughter, Marchesa “Markie” Scalia. "Thank you for all you do and for being Markie's Best Friend!”

Meanwhile, Dina may have been a day late, but she didn’t miss the chance to show her 26-year-old daughter, Lexi Ioannou, some social media love, nonetheless. “Ooopps I missed yesterday’s Insta-holiday so here’s a photo of my fabulous daughter the day after,” she captioned the September 26 Instagram post. “Love you [Lexi].”

In the comments, Lexi wrote, “Thanks mom,” adding four red heart emojis. RHONJ’s Teresa Giudice also joined the love fest, commenting with four red double-heart emojis of her own.

Apart from their love for their daughters, however, the RHONJ sisters have continued to navigate their own estrangement. In April 2021, the topic came up when Caroline sat down with Andy Cohen on his E! Limited series, For Real: The Story of Reality TV. After the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host showed her some vintage RHONJ casting tapes, including her own, which also featured Dina, he asked if watching the footage was “bittersweet.” Caroline’s response? “Sure. I don’t want to talk about that.”

After Andy acknowledged that she and Dina hadn’t “spoken in years,” he asked if the sisters “would still be OK” had it not been for the show.

“Probably didn’t help,” Caroline replied, also noting that “what’s meant to be is gonna happen.” But when the WWHL host noted that she seemed teary talking about her sister, the emotional RHONJ alum simply answered, “Next question.”

In a 2019 interview with The Daily Dish, Chris Manzo offered some insight into his and his siblings’ relationship with Lexi, noting, “Well, [Lexi] lives in a different part of the country, so we’re not as close, but there’s nothing that if Lexi were to call me tomorrow for, I wouldn’t be willing to help her out with and all that,” Chris said. “But that being said, I think Lauren and her are really close still. They talk all the time.”
