John Abraham was one of the best at getting to the passer during the 2000s, but there was one time he asked for a little help from the other team.

Back in 2004, the Miami Dolphins traveled up to New York for an AFC East with the Abraham and the Jets. At that point, the Dolphins were 1-6 and the Jets were 6-1, so it was little surprise that Miami got smacked 41-14 at the old Giants Stadium.

92.9 The Game’s Randy McMichael was a tight end on that Dolphins team, and he remembered a funny exchange he had with Abraham once the game was out of reach. He told the story during Wednesday's "Midday Show with Andy & Randy".

“John was so funny," McMichael said. "When we played, I’ll never forget, we played up in New York when he was with the Jets. We were getting demolished, and the left tackle couldn’t block John, so they put me over there to chip. So John says ‘Hey Randy, I need one more sack.’ I was like ‘Get the hell out of here, John.’ (Abraham replied) ‘No, I need one more sack.’

“‘The play is about to go on, I’m like ‘For what, man?’ He’s like, ‘I’ve got to get these $1 million, man!’ So he was trying to get me to fall down so he could get a damn incentive for $1 million. Now, I wouldn't let him do that. ...

“I’ll never forget it. John was like, ‘Hey Randy, move out of the way.' He was cooking our tackle too that day. I think he had three sacks that game. Cooking him.”

So, when the ball was snapped, McMichael didn’t budge.

“No he didn’t (get that sack). I didn’t move, I was like 'Nah, I ain’t going to do that. I’m not going to let you hit my quarterback.’ But good to see my boy (Abraham) doing good."

Abraham finished that game with three tackles, a forced fumble but just one sack. And for those curious, the Dolphins starting left tackle that day who apparently kept getting cooked that game was Damion McIntosh.

He just didn't get cooked enough for Abraham to get his incentive that day.
