When Dua Lipa stepped out in New York City today, she inadvertently gave a masterclass in elevating classic pieces. The pop star, seen alongside her stylist Lorenzo Posocco, wore a black halter bodysuit and an oversized leather blazer by Willy Chavarria. For that downtown babe effect, Lipa also dressed up her look with a backward Vogue x Puma Hat, which retails for a cool $30, and a tiny snake print shoulder bag from London-based designer KNWLS.

As for pants, Lipa opted for a pair of baggy jeans. The low-slung denim could have felt extremely casual, but Lipa dressed it up with a pair of bedazzled black Gucci monogrammed pumps.

The look was reminiscent of another star who often transforms standard oversized trousers into a fashion moment: Rihanna. In early September, Rihanna stepped out in a vintage oversized jersey, baggy jeans, and a pair of colorful pointy-toed heels.

Plus, the loose style has been raging on the runway recently, specifically at Bottega Veneta. For the past two seasons, Bottega Veneta released leather jeans styled with kicky boots, elevating the often casual closet signature. Don’t be surprised if you see the look make its rounds over the next few months.
