BOSTON -- Abraham Almonte is in center field and Reese McGuire is catching lefty Rich Hill as the Red Sox take on the Orioles on Wednesday night at Fenway Park.
Kiké Hernández is back at second base with Trevor Story (heel) and Christian Arroyo (illness) still sidelined. Almonte gets the start in center against righty Dean Kremer; Rob Refsnyder has been the primary center-fielder when Hernández plays second.
Boston has eight games left this season: two more against the Orioles at home, three in Toronto and three against the Rays back at Fenway early next week. The Red Sox will need to win out to avoid a losing season. They already have 81 losses.
The Red Sox will be wearing their blue and yellow City Connect uniforms. First pitch is set for 7:10 p.m. ET.
