2022-23 Orange Hoop Times Announced

9/28/2022 10:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball

Game times and television network assignments for most of the 2022-23 Syracuse men's basketball schedule were announced on Wednesday. Included are 11 games that will appear on one of ESPN's primary platforms.

HOME VS AWAY
There are 18 regular-season contests scheduled for the JMA Wireless Dome, plus an additional two exhibition games. Syracuse has preseason tilts with Indiana (Pa.) and Southern New Hampshire, prior to the official campaign starter on Nov. 7 against Lehigh. The ACC home opener for the Orange is Dec. 20 versus Pittsburgh, an ESPNU telecast.

Home-court highlights include a Dec. pairing with long-time rival Georgetown at 3:00 p.m. and Saturday ACC encounters with Notre Dame (Jan. 14), Duke (Feb. 18) and Wake Forest (March 4).

Syracuse has 11 away dates, 10 of which are conference contests. Syracuse has a Nov. 29 appointment at Illinois in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge before starting the 10-game, road ACC itinerary with a Dec. 3, noon start at Notre Dame. There are also Saturday road dates at Virginia (Jan. 7), at Georgia Tech (Jan. 21), Virginia Tech (Jan. 28), Boston College (Feb. 4) and Pittsburgh (Feb. 25).

The Orange have two neutral-site pairings, both in the 2K Empire Classic hosted by Barclay's Center in Brooklyn. Syracuse plays Richmond at 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 21 and then either St. John's or Temple on Nov. 22.

THE WORLD-WIDE LEADER
While some of the network designations are not finalized, the Orange are set for 11 appearances on either ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU. Syracuse has an important Tuesday night, Jan. 24, 9:00 p.m. encounter with North Carolina in the JMA Wireless Dome versus North Carolina. Less than a week later, the Orange are part of an ESPN "Big Monday" telecast against Virginia in the JMA Wireless Dome on Jan. 30 at 7:00 p.m. Syracuse also will play on ESPN against Duke on Feb. 18 in the Dome.

Both Syracuse games in the 2K Empire Classic are slated for ESPN2 and the ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchup with Illinois will be televised by either ESPN or ESPN2. The dates at Notre Dame (Dec. 3) and against Georgetown (Dec. 10) are slotted for ESPN2.

The first contest of the new year is Jan. 3 at Louisville and will be televised by ESPN, ESPN 2 or ESPNU. A mid-week matchup at Florida State (Feb. 8) is to be set on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU.

THE ACC NETWORK
Eleven of Syracuse's encounters will be aired on the ACC Network. Three other games are scheduled to be streamed on ACC Network Extra (ACCNX).

THE REGIONAL SPORTS NETWORK
Syracuse has five games on the Regional Sports Network (RSN), starting with the annual pairing with Central New York rival Colgate on Nov. 15.
