NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A FedEx truck fatally struck a bicycle rider on Long Island Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The incident happened just after 9 a.m. as the 56-year-old victim was riding his bicycle on the North Service Road of the Long Island Expressway in North Hills, police said.
A 25-year-old who was driving a FedEx truck hit the man near the intersection of Searingtown Road, officials said.
The victim, whose name was not immediately released, sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The FedEx driver remained at the scene. Police are still investigating the incident.
