The Vegas Golden Knights will be reaching out to the community in a special way on the 5th anniversary of the 1 October shooting this Saturday.
The team announced Wednesday that they would host a blood drive and unveil a new police cruiser to honor victims, first responders, and community members affected by the tragedy.
Events will begin Saturday morning at City National Arena with the unveiling of the LVMPD's newest cruiser, which features the team's logo and "Vegas Born" slogan on the driver's side.
The cruiser will park in front of the arena starting at 7:50 a.m.

At 8 a.m., the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation, along with Downtown Summerlin and Vitalant, will open a 1 October memorial blood drive outside of City National Arena.
The blood drive will run through 5 p.m., and feature visits from players, staff, Deryk Engelland, Chance, and members of the VGK Cast throughout the day.
Donors must make an appointment in advance, with sponsor code VGK.
