Free rides and help booking safe places to shelter are a few ways some companies are chipping in to help Florida residents as Hurricane Ian looms near the western coastline.
According to tweets sent by Secretary of Economic Opportunity Dan Eagle, the state is holding daily calls to ensure access to supplies and help.
As of Wednesday afternoon, Uber is offering free rides to anyone heading to or from state-approved evacuation shelters.
Eagle explained in a thread on the social media site that promotional code IANRELIEF in the app will redeem a free round-trip up to $30 each way for Florida residents seeking shelter.
Publix, Walmart and Lowes all committed to keeping store shelves stocked with inventory.
