Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles are one of two undefeated teams remaining in the NFL through the first three weeks of the season. The latest team to get dominated by them was the Washington Commanders, who were led by former Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz.

The Eagles got after Wentz relentlessly, as they battered him throughout the game. Wentz had two huge performances the previous games before facing off against Philadelphia and they made sure that he wasn’t able to replicate that.

On the offensive side of the ball, Jalen Hurts continued his masterful start to the season. Washington was able to corral Hurts running the ball, something that has been a struggle for teams throughout his career. However, he put on an aerial display against his NFC East rivals.

Hurts completed 62.9 percent of his pass attempts for 340 yards and three touchdowns. That was the sixth time in his career that he surpassed the 300-yard plateau for passing yards in a game and the third that he threw three touchdowns.

He has been spreading the ball around well as the Eagles have had a different leading receiver in each game. This week it was 2021 first-round pick DeVonta Smith who went off, as he caught eight passes for 169 yards and a score.

People are beginning to take notice of how well Hurts and the Eagles are playing, as he is garnering a lot of attention. Some people believe he should be in the MVP conversation in the early going of the season and one of those people is former All-Pro cornerback, Richard Sherman.

Sherman spoke about it on a recent episode of his podcast on The Volume Sports.

Hurts has taken his game to another level this season, completing 67.3 percent of his passes thus far for 916 yards and four touchdowns compared to one interception. He has run for 167 yards and three more scores as well.

If the Eagles can continue winning games and Hurts keeps producing at this level, he will be in the conversation to take home some hardware at the end of the season.
