A man is recovering after being shot Tuesday night in Springfield.
The Sangamon County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called around 9 p.m. to the 2600 block of South Glenwood for a report of a possible shooting.
They found a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his hip.
The victim told deputies a woman came to his door and demanded something from him, but he was unsure what she wanted.
He says the woman also threatened him by saying she had others with her.
When he turned to run that's when he was shot.
He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 22-year-old woman and a newborn baby were inside the home when the shooting happened. Thankfully, they were uninjured.
The female suspect was described as wearing dark-colored clothing, and her face was covered. No weapon was recovered.
