Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star John Krasinski has trolled his pal Ryan Reynolds over that Deadpool announcement.

The man behind the Merc with a Mouth surprised his global fanbase on Tuesday (September 27) with not just an official release date for Deadpool 3, but also the news that Hugh Jackman will co-headline the movie as Wolverine.

Responding to this seismic reveal, Krasinski simply retweeted Reynolds's video with the caption: "Wait... is this our movie?"

So, there's two ways we can dissect this: the more plausible one being that the Mister Fantastic actor is sarcastically alluding to their collaboration on Imaginary Friends, which arrives in cinemas the same year as Deadpool 3. Both actors are producing that movie, while Reynolds also stars.

As for Deadpool's long-awaited MCU debut, screenwriter Rhett Reese previously suggested what fans can expect.

"It's a wonderful opportunity for fish-out-of-water. Deadpool is a lunatic at the centre of a movie. To drop a lunatic into a very sane world, it's straight butter. It's going to be really fun.

"I think the great part is that Marvel's been incredibly supportive. They are gonna let Deadpool be Deadpool, you know?" he said of Marvel's willingness to include the character's R-rated sensibilities.

"It's not like any particular joke may be the one that they say, 'You know, that's too far,' that could happen, but to this point, it's been nothing but support."

Deadpool and Deadpool 2 are streaming on Disney+, and also available on digital download, DVD and Blu-ray. Deadpool 3 has a release date of September 6, 2024.
