Strandquist –
Phyllis E. Otterstetter, 80, of Strandquist, passed away, Thursday, September 22, 2022, in the Thief River Falls Care Center.
Phyllis Elaine Otterstetter was born January 29, 1942, in Mayville, ND, the daughter of Joseph and Doris (Knudson) Domier. She was raised on a farm near Blanchard, ND and graduated in 1960, from Clifford High School. Phyllis then attended Mayville State.
On May 27, 1963, she married Theodore Otterstetter in Clifford, ND. Phyllis was employed as a nurses aid for a number of years, then at Widman’s Candy in Fargo and later as a greeter at Shooting Star Casino until her retirement. Living in Waubun, she enjoyed an 18 year companionship with Wes Miller. Following his death, Phyllis moved a house to the farmstead of her son, Scott, near Strandquist, living there for 6 years. She then moved to the Thief River Care Center, in Thief River.
She enjoyed gardening, quilting and baking. Phyllis belonged to several gardening and quilting clubs and enjoyed the Newfolden senior citizens center.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her children, Tamara (Scott) Winter of Dilworth and Scott Otterstetter of Strandquist; grandchildren, Katelin Winter, Ella Otterstetter, Isabella Winter, and Nora Otterstetter; siblings, Williard (Marilee) Domier of Battle Lake, Bernice Skrivseth of West Fargo, and Wendell Domier of Hillsboro, ND.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Brady Winter; brother, Jerome Domier; brother-in-law, Howard Skrivseth; and companion, Wes Miller.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2022, at West Funeral Home in West Fargo.
Visitation: An hour prior to the service.
Interment: Clifford Cemetery, Clifford, ND
