UPDATE (9/29/22):
Valdosta police say that on around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, family members brought the wanted teen to the police department and turned him in.
Prior information provided to the police department by the legal custodian, indicated that the offender was seventeen. Upon his arrest, detectives obtained conflicting information indicating that the offender was actually sixteen. After obtaining this new additional information, in abundance of caution, contact was made with the Department of Juvenile Justice and the offender is being detained at a Regional Youth Detention Center.

A teen is wanted in connection to a bus stop shooting in Valdosta Monday morning.
Police are looking for 16-year-old male, and say that he is to be considered armed and dangerous.
Just before 7:30 a.m. on September 26, Valdosta police, detectives, and crime scene personnel, responded to the area of the 1400 block of Weaver Street, after citizens called E911 to report a shooting had just occurred.
Detectives have been continuing to investigate this incident and process evidence. Through their investigation as the offender was identified in this case. On September 27, detectives obtained arrest warrants for the 16-year-old for felony aggravated assault and felony possession of a firearm.
The teen has not been arrested and police are seeking the public’s assistance locating him. If anyone knows his location, please call 911.
