Orange County deputy sheriffs arrested two people on Tuesday just hours after a man was shot to death in the parking lot of a Popeye’s on Orange Blossom Trail, in what authorities believe stemmed from suspects breaking into the victim’s car.

Deputies arrived at the restaurant around noon, where they found Christian Amaro, 40, shot multiple times in what detectives believe was a botched car burglary. Amaro was taken to a hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Hours later, investigators arrested Dariun Longstreet, 25, and Corina Angel, 20, for first-degree murder after tracking down their car, the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. They are currently in the Orange County Jail without bond.

No other details have been released.
