Casey’s provides statement after Hull fire; Sheriff releases more info

HULL, Iowa (KCAU) — Casey’s General Store has provided a statement to Casey’s in regards to Wednesday morning’s fire.

“We are saddened to learn of the fire that occurred at our store in Hull and are thankful for local authorities who acted quckly to help our team members and guests. We are currently working to evealuate the impact and confirm the cause of the incident.”

“Our team remains focused on supporting our team memebrs during this time and encourges guests to visit our nearby locations where they can continue everything they need to keep their day going.”

PREVIOUS: The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office has revealed a few more details about the fire at the Casey’s in Hull.

Officials said that they received the fire call at around 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

Upon their arrival, officials reported seeing the roof engulfed by the fire. They stated the employees were inside when the fire began and reported an explosion that occurred inside shortly after the fire and smoke was first spotted. No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

PREVIOUS: A substantial fire in Hull has prompted a response from multiple Emergency Responders on Wednesday.  

According to a post to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office Twitter page, a fire started at Casey’s in Hull while employees were inside. The post specified that the employees were able to escape uninjured.

Fire departments from Hull, Sioux Center, and Rock Valley are on the scene trying to control the fire. Hull EMS also responded.

Officials are asking residents to avoid the area of Casey’s due to a fire and increased smoke in the area.
