Waushara Historical Society now working with Jones Museum Library area

Subhead

The Waushara County Historical Society has joined forces with Deb Buchholz, president of the Friends of the Library and the Jones Fund.  The Jones fund was started in 1978 in memory of Hugh and Dora Jones for a Museum at the Wautoma Library to promote genealogy and the history of Waushara County.   There is now a small wing at the back right corner of the Library dedicated to just that thanks to working with Buchholz and the Waushara County Historical Society.  There are several cabinets of historic displays including one brought in by Don Netzler of photos and memorabilia from Camp Waushara.  The display case also includes some clothing from Hunt’s Drug Store and Dilt’s Hardware, a chainsaw from Arctic Circle and so much more.  Take time and visit the library and enjoy a step back in time as you witness some of the artifacts and photos from year’s past. Members of the Historical Society that helped in creating the display included Char Stratton, Debbie Buchholz, Jones Memorial President, Tom GoetZ, and Jerry Cummings.  There is a display case that was donated to the library that was once in Wautoma Mercantile.  That display case will be the one that can be used by organizations for historic displays.  The case measures 74 inches long, 21 inches deep and is 16 inches high.  If you have some Waushara County memorabilia and would be willing to display it, please call or stop in at the Wautoma Library or the Waushara County Historical Society for more information.
