Help needed at storm damaged Coloma farm

Subhead

Tornadic thunderstorm winds hit the rural Coloma farm of Melvin and Anna Yoder earlier this summer. The roof of the 36 by 60 feet barn was torn off, some shingle damage on the house remains, and over 40 large hardwood trees were blown over on the property. The barn is only 12-years old. No family members or livestock were injured. When supplies of boards (or, a portable sawmill is needed) and tin roofing are obtained, the couple would appreciate any assistance from neighbors or other interested individuals to help the family protect the remaining barn and animals from the elements. Help is also needed to cut the downed hardwoods into logs, or block and split for firewood. The family has a splitter. Persons interested can call Yoder at 715-721-0581; Melvin Yoder, N577 11th Avenue, Coloma, WI 54930 (Curtis Lake area, Town of Richford, Waushara County.)
