Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 4:43 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, North Jefferson Street, east of East Wells Street, Silver Lake. Driver: Steven B. Ford, 32, Fulton Avenue, Rochester. Ford was turning from North Jefferson Street onto East Wells Street when he sideswiped a parked vehicle and backed into a parked vehicle. Both vehicles were unoccupied at the time of the accident and no injuries were reported. Damage up to $25,000.
- 1:54 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, East CR 450N, east of North CR 100E, Warsaw. Driver: Naomi C. McNight, 21, East Market Street, Warsaw. A vehicle left the roadway on East CR 450N, in the area of North CR 100E, and hit a utility pole. The vehicle was unoccupied. It was later determined that McNight, the vehicle’s owner, left the scene. She was then arrested. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $50,000.
- 7:14 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, South CR 250E, north of Oak Lane, Warsaw. Drivers: Lucas A. Williamson, 17, East Oak Lane, Warsaw; and Jose J. Moyotl, 19, Wooster Road 46, Winona Lake. Williamson was traveling south on South CR 250E and was preparing to turn left onto Oak Lane when he hit Moyotl’s vehicle. Williamson complained of pain to his elbow and lower arm area and was taken to a local hospital for his injuries. Damage up to $25,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 8:19 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, Wooster Road, west of Connection Circle, Winona Lake. Driver: Jason H. Davis, 50, West 45th Terrace, Shawnee, Kan. Davis was traveling west on Wooster Road when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
- 2:08 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 921 Connection Circle, Winona Lake. Driver: Calla J. Andrews, 57, South CR 500E, Warsaw. Andrews was attempting to park her vehicle when she sideswiped a parked, unoccupied vehicle owned by Jodi M. Nakasone, Warsaw. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $10,000.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 10:25 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, US 31 and SR 14. Driver: Joshua J. Dircks, 31, West Lafayette. No details available.
