The Maine CDC is reminding everyone who's eligible to get the updated COVID booster shot.
Maine CDC Director Dr. Nirav Shah says to be eligible you just need to be 12 or older and had your last shot at least two months ago.
He says this latest COVID booster targets the original strain and the new omicron subvariants.
"The updated booster is one of the best things you can do to keep you and your family safe this winter. You know, living here in the Northeast, we're used to getting ready for winter: winterizing our cars, winterizing our houses. Getting these boosters is a way that you can winterize yourself,” Dr. Shah said.
The Maine CDC says the new boosters are available across the state at doctor's offices and pharmacies.
You can also get whichever brand you want, regardless of the brands you’ve had before.
